Getting Started

How do I set up my WellNuo system?

Setting up WellNuo is simple and takes just a few minutes:

  1. Plug it in: Insert your WellNuo smart plug into any standard outlet in the room you want to monitor.
  2. Download the app: Get the WellNuo app from the App Store or Google Play.
  3. Connect to WiFi: Follow the in-app instructions to connect your plug to your home WiFi network.
  4. Add family members: Invite family members to receive alerts and view activity.

The plug will automatically calibrate to the room over the first 24-48 hours.

Where should I place the plugs?

For best coverage, we recommend placing plugs in:

  • Living room: Primary activity monitoring
  • Bedroom: Sleep and nighttime monitoring
  • Kitchen: Cooking safety and gas detection
  • Bathroom: Fall detection in high-risk area
  • Hallway: Movement tracking between rooms

The radar can detect through walls up to 8 inches thick, so you don't need a plug in every room.

What's included in my WellNuo package?

Your WellNuo Starter Kit includes:

  • 5 WellNuo smart plugs (10 sensors each)
  • Quick start guide
  • 24/7 monitoring service
  • Mobile app access (iOS & Android)
  • Family member accounts (unlimited)

Sensors & Devices

How does the through-wall radar work?

Our 60GHz mmWave radar uses the same technology found in advanced automotive and medical systems. It sends out radio waves that can:

  • Detect movement through walls up to 8 inches thick
  • Track up to 3 people simultaneously
  • Detect falls in under 0.1 seconds
  • Monitor breathing and micro-movements

Unlike cameras, radar only sees movement patterns - not faces, bodies, or any identifying features. Your privacy is completely protected.

How do I connect Bluetooth health devices?

WellNuo acts as a BLE gateway, automatically connecting to compatible health devices:

  1. Put your Bluetooth health device in pairing mode
  2. Open the WellNuo app and go to Settings > Health Devices
  3. Tap "Add New Device" and select your device type
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete pairing

Compatible devices include blood pressure monitors, glucose meters, pulse oximeters, smart scales, and more.

What can the smell sensors detect?

Our VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) and VSC (Volatile Sulfur Compounds) sensors can detect:

  • Gas leaks: Natural gas, propane
  • Smoke: Burning food, cigarettes, fire
  • Carbon monoxide: Dangerous levels before standard detectors
  • Spoiled food: Decomposing organic matter
  • Air quality issues: High CO2, poor ventilation

Alerts & Notifications

What types of alerts will I receive?

WellNuo sends four types of alerts:

  • Emergency Alerts: Fall detected, dangerous gas levels, no movement for extended period
  • Attention Alerts: Unusual activity pattern, stove left on, bathroom visit longer than normal
  • Trend Alerts: Weekly activity summaries, sleep pattern changes, gradual behavior shifts
  • Health Alerts: Abnormal blood pressure, medication reminders, health device readings
How do I customize my alert settings?

In the WellNuo app, go to Settings > Alerts to customize:

  • Which alerts you want to receive
  • Quiet hours (reduce non-emergency notifications)
  • Alert delivery method (push, SMS, email, phone call)
  • Escalation rules (who to contact if you don't respond)
  • Sensitivity levels for each alert type
Can I add multiple family members to receive alerts?

Yes! You can add unlimited family members. Each person can have their own alert preferences. To add a family member:

  1. Open the WellNuo app and go to Settings > Family
  2. Tap "Invite Family Member"
  3. Enter their email address
  4. They'll receive an invitation to download the app and create an account

  3. Restart your router and try again
  4. Reset the plug by holding the button for 10 seconds until it flashes
  5. Check that your WiFi password doesn't contain special characters

I'm getting too many false alerts

The system learns over time, but you can help by:

  • Adjusting sensitivity in Settings > Alerts > Sensitivity
  • Making sure the plug isn't near moving objects (curtains, fans)
  • Giving the system 2-3 weeks to learn normal patterns
  • Marking false alerts as "Not an issue" to help train the AI
The app shows "Offline" for my plug

If your plug shows as offline:

  1. Check that the plug is still plugged in and the LED is lit
  2. Verify your home WiFi is working
  3. Try unplugging the plug for 10 seconds and plugging it back in
  4. Check if your router's firewall is blocking the connection
  5. Move the plug closer to your router if signal is weak
